In our consultancy department we handle civil, structural and Bulk Materials handling engineering projects of all sizes and scales. A major scope of project work is associated with Structural Design Verification. Our experience spans hundreds of storage and material handling facilities, working on all facets of the project design. This broad-based background enables us to develop realistic, workable solutions that are long on quality and value.
We believe in providing our clients simple, practical and build able engineering solutions to meet the particular structure's needs. Determining The Budget :

The total budget for a project is usually set well before the project brief is prepared. The challenge lies in how to gain the greatest value from the funds available and how to ensure that the project brief adequately reflects what the budget is capable of buying.
Clients own internal rates are usually determined by multiplying annual salary (professional) by the generally accepted factor of 2.5. This is to cover 'on-costs' of non-technical support staff, holiday pay, sickness pay, workers' compensation, superannuation, insurances, government charges, payroll tax, , materials, rent, other general overheads and profit.
This is then computed to an hourly rate in the following way:
Hourly rate = Annual Salary x 2.5 /1505 hours pa (Note: 1505 hours represents 43 weeks to allow for leave, public holidays, etc.)
For example, costs for a salaried person on $50,000.00 is equivallent to an hourly rate of $83.00 / hr , where as a salaried person on $150,000.00 equates to an hourly cost of $250.00 / hr
All businesses have peaks and troughs as to work / projects but these costs exist continually minimising company profitability. To use a consultancy in an adhoc as needs basis makes good buisness sense.

Our consultancy will charge either on an hourly rate or a fixed charge for the whole project.
Generally the following applies:
Unpredictable work content is difficult to cost due to the unknown time that will be required to complete the work. If the client and our consultancy cannot identify, with some degree of accuracy, the length of time involved in the project or some specific component of the project, then we will usually seek a fee paid on an hourly basis. Predictable work content is often charged at a fixed fee. A detailed work plan will assist in setting a time frame for the project and allow our consultancy to estimate the time involved and hence the fee to be charged. Travelling, travelling time, out of pocket expenses, overnight accommodation and other expenses such as printing, telephone, postage and computer time must be reimbursed and are additional to the hourly rate or the fixed fee.

AutoCAD software is licenced for use only by Commercial Design supplied hourly rate contract personnel.

Permanent Placement fee is determined as follows:

Remuneration Package to successful candidate ( Wage, SGL and car allowance if applicable)

$20,000.00 - $59,999.99 charged @ 8% next
$60,000.00 - $99,999.99 charged @12.5% from
$100,000.00 PLUS charged @ 18% Conditions apply, request copy of Standard Terms and Conditions

Example
Remuneration package to individual = $65,000.00 ( Wage + SGL)
Charge to client is $5,425.00 ( first $59,999.00 at 8%, remaining $5,000 at 12.5%)

Permanent Placement Guarantee is 13 weeks from commencement of employment; Pro-rata payment relative to term of engagement if candidate finishes prior to the 13th week.

We ask no advertising fees except in exceptional circumstances, we have no pre-selection fee structure either - 30% payment if short listed candidate is not required after acceptance by client (position not required), a one-off fee if successful - payable within 14 days.
